Ingredients
1 Ham bone
1lb Green split peas
2 Bay leaves
1t Thyme
6 Black pepper corns
6C Vegetable stock, chicken stock, or a mix of each
2C Water
1t Kosher salt
1 Onion coarsely chopped
3 Stalks Celery chopped
3 Carrots chopped
Instructions
Ham bone, split peas, bay leaves, thyme, black pepper, stock, water, and salt into the pot.
Cook for 13 minutes high pressure.
Natural release
Remove the bay leaves and the bone
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add the onions, carrots, and celery.
8 minutes in the instant pot on high pressure
Natural release
Serve hot.
The soup will thicken quite a bit when it cools, that is normal.
