Riesling Fruit Salad

Ingredients

Makes 8C takes 30 minutes

Combine in a sauce pan

2C                 Sweet Riesling wine

1/4C              Sugar

1ea                3 inch cinnamon stick

Minced zest of 1 orange

Minced zest of 1 lemon

Bring to a boil over medium high heat

Reduce to 1/4C of liquid when strained which takes about 25 minutes

Discard the solids

In a separate bowl

Combine

4ea                Plums, pitted and sliced

2ea                Pears, cored and sliced

1C                 Red grapes, halved

1C                 Kumquats, halved

Toss the plums, pears, grapes, and kumquats with the Riesling syrup

Cover and refrigerate, no longer than 2 hours before serving
