Port Wine Cheese Log

Ingredients

1/2C              Cream cheese, softened

1 1/2C           Sharp white cheddar shredded (8 oz package)

2T                 Dried cherries

1 1/2T           Chives, minced

1t                  Tawny port

Pinch            Ground nutmeg

Cracked black pepper and salt to taste

1/2C              Pecans, toasted and chopped

Directions

Combine cream cheese, cheddar, cherries, 3t chives, 1t port, and nutmeg in a small bowl

Season with pepper and salt

Roll into 5 to 6in log

Combine pecans and remaining 6t of chives

Place on a long strip of plastic

Roll cheese log into the pecan mixture to coat

Wrap in plastic

Chill until ready to serve

Let log come to room temperature before serving
