Poached Eggs on an English Muffin with Canadian Bacon and American Cheese

  1. Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil, then salt the water.
  2. Crack an egg into a small cup.
  3. With a spoon, begin stirring the boiling water in a large, circular motion. 
  4. When the water is swirling like a tornado, add the eggs.  
  5. Cook for about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Heat the Canadian bacon in a skillet while the eggs are cooking
  7. Toast the English muffin
  8. Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg (or eggs) to a plate.
  9. Place the heated Canadian bacon on the English muffin
  10. Place a slice of American cheese on the Canadian bacon
  11. Place the egg on top of the American cheese and serve
