Greatest Beef Gravy Ever

Ingredients

1 packet                  French onion soup

20oz                        Homemade beef broth

2T                            Dry sherry

2T                            Worcestershire

1T                            Soy sauce

1C                           Potato water  

3T                            AP flour

3T                            Water

1T                            Pepper

Directions

This part can be made ahead covered and held for a day on the stovetop

Combine the beef stock, 1C water, the sherry, Worcestershire, soy sauce, 1T black pepper, and French onion soup in a saucepan

Bring to a boil

Reduce to a simmer and simmer for 1 hour

At serving time

Heat the mixture to a simmer

Add 1C of potato water

When the mixture comes back to a simmer

Make a roux with 3T flour, 3T water and add to the mixture stirring constantly
