French Roll Stuffed w/Ground Beef, Hot Italian Sausage, Herbs, & Spices

Ingredients

Loaf         French bread cut into a top and a bottom

1/4C              Water

3T                 Parsley

1T                 Dijon mustard

1                    Egg lightly beaten

Pinch             Oregano

Pinch             Black pepper

1/2lb              Bulk sausage

1C              Onion chopped

1/2lb              Ground beef

2T                 Butter

1                    Small garlic clove minced

Process

Cut the bread in half lengthwise and remove most of the crumb

Combine the water, parsley, mustard, egg, oregano, and black pepper in a bowl

Add the bread crumbs

Preheat the oven to 400F

Brown the sausage, ground beef, and onion over medium-high heat

Drain well and combine with the bread crumb mixture

Divide equally over loaf on an ungreased baking sheet

*This recipe can be made ahead to this point and frozen

If frozen continue from here when you take them out of the freezer.

Melt the butter

Add the garlic to the butter

Brush over the filling and edges of the loaf

Bake 10-15 minutes) (bake an extra 10 minutes if frozen), or until hot and browned

Cool and serve
