Chicken Flautas/Taquitos

Flautas are great with any filling, so feel free to use shredded chicken, pork, or even your favorite shredded cheese.
Makes 8 flautas

The difference between flautas and taquitos in our world is that flautas use flour tortillas, and taquitos use corn tortillas


Ingredients

8ea 6 inch corn tortillas for taquitos

or

8ea 6 inch flour tortillas for flautas

2C           Shredded cooked chicken

2/3C        Celeste’s Marinara or Classico pizza sauce

2T            Finely chopped Goya Chipotle Peppers in Adobo sauce

3/4C        Chopped cilantro

1C           Mexican cheddar cheese blend shredded

Place on a paper towel-lined baking sheet

For the filling,

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl

Fill each tortilla with 2-3 Tbsp. of filling


Roll up and secure with a toothpick

Fry the flautas/taquitos in 375F oil until golden brown 2-3 minutes

Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel lined plate

Garnish with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar
