Braided Peach Strudel

Ingredients

4 Medium peaches peeled, pitted, and sliced

1 Egg

1T Water

1/3C Brown sugar

1T AP flour

1/4C Chopped pecans

1t Vanilla extract

1 sheet Pepperidge Farm puff pastry

2T Sugar

Process

Blanch, peel, and slice the peaches

Heat the oven to 400F

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Beat the egg and water in a small bowl

In a large bowl stir in the peaches, brown sugar, flour, pecans, and vanilla

Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface

Roll the pastry into a 14 x 12 inch rectangle

Place the pastry onto the baking sheet

Spoon the peach mixture lengthwise down the center of the pastry

Cut slits 1 inch apart and to within 1/2 inch of the peach mixture on both sides

Starting at one end, fold the pastry strips over the peach mixture, alternating sides to cover the peach mixture

Brush the pastry with the egg wash

Sprinkle with sugar

Place the pastry onto a baking sheet

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown

Let the pastry cool on the baking sheet or a wire rack for 20 minutes
